The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
If you are reading this, you’ve already taken that first—and often hardest—step. I want to acknowledge the courage it took to reach out. Whether you are navigating a sudden “bump in the road” or feel that your life has been out of alignment for a long time, the strength you used to find this page is the same strength that will help you move forward.
My Approach: Therapy for the Whole Person
Hi, I’m Stephanie Carson. As a holistically trained psychotherapist and the founder of Wholistic Family Therapy & Wellness Center, I don’t just see a “case” or a set of symptoms—I see a whole person. With over 25 years of experience, I’ve learned that while we cannot undo the past or erase painful experiences, we can change how they live within you today.
I have found that the most effective healing happens when we honor both the mind and the body. In my practice, I provide a warm, supportive sanctuary where you can feel safe enough to explore your story. By blending traditional talk therapy with powerful, research-supported mind-body tools like NET (Neuro Emotional Technique) and EFT (Tapping), we address stress and trauma at the root. This holistic approach often helps my clients find relief and clarity more quickly and deeply than through conversation alone.
How We Can Walk Together
I enjoy working with people from all walks of life and at every stage of adulthood. My practice is a space for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and a more regulated, peaceful life. I am here to support you if you are:
Seeking Relief from Anxiety or Stress: Finding your way back to calm when the world (or your own mind) feels too loud.
Healing Your Relationships: Longing for deeper, more fulfilling connections and healthier communication with those you love.
Navigating Life’s Transitions: Whether you are starting a new career, adjusting to a move, or facing the “empty nest,” I help you find your footing in the new.
Finding Your Steady Ground: Honoring your body’s transition through the unique emotional and physical shifts of perimenopause and menopause.
Processing Grief, Loss, or Trauma: Navigating the profound and complex landscape of life’s most difficult “bumps in the road.”
Breaking Old Patterns: Ready to move in a new direction but feeling stuck in cycles that no longer serve you.
My Background & Expertise
As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I specialize in individual, couples, and family therapy. Over the past two decades, I have dedicated myself to serving a broad spectrum of clients—from young adults finding their way to couples seeking to rediscover one another. Additionally, to better support the deep connection between the mind and body, I have pursued advanced certifications as a Certified NET Practitioner, an Accredited Certified EFT Practitioner, and a Certified Trauma-Sensitive HeartMath Practitioner. These tools allow me to offer a more profound level of relief, especially for those navigating the most sensitive and tender seasons of life.
One of my greatest honors has been supporting parents through their most difficult seasons. My book, “Why My Child? A Clinical Guide for Helping Parents Survive the Sudden Death of a Child,” was written to help both families and professionals navigate the heart-wrenching journey of parental bereavement. I use my holistic background to help parents process the physical and emotional weight of loss that often feels impossible to carry.
Equally close to my heart is my work with women moving through the transformative stage of perimenopause and menopause. I know that this season can bring unexpected emotional intensity and a sense of being “untethered.” My goal is to help you understand the connection between your hormones and your heart, using gentle somatic tools to help you reclaim a sense of home within your body.
Whether we are working through the weight of the past or the challenges of the present, I am here to offer compassion, clinical expertise, and a steady hand.
I would be honored to walk alongside you as you discover your new self. Give me a call or send me an email today, and let’s begin this journey together.
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
